structured wiring

Alarm System Structured WiringStructured Wiring is a means to centralize and organize the cables and individual system panels required to distribute multi-room TV, video, phone service, multi-room audio, computer network, and Internet services, to each room in your home.

A structured wiring system gives you a number of configurations to choose from. Wires originating from the Connection Center (the “brains” of the system typically located in a service area such as a closet, garage, attic, or basement) are routed to outlets located in each room of your house. Typical outlets include:

  1. Telephone Outlet - Allows you to connect standard one and two-line telephones, a fax machine, or a dial-up modem. Outlet includes (1) 4 pair category 5e wire.
  2. Television Outlet - Supports cable TV, satellite or off-air TV antenna applications. A high-speed cable modem may also be connected. Outlet includes (1) RG-6 coaxial cable.
  3. Home Office - Allows up to four phone lines, cable modem and/or TV. Can also be used as one end of a local area network. Outlet includes (2) 4 pair category 5e wires and (1) RG-6 coaxial cable.
  4. Multi Media Outlet - Primarily used for entertainment centers where cable TV, satellite or off-air TV antenna reception is needed. The phone line allows you to order Pay-Per-View services. Outlet includes (2) RG-6 coaxial cables and (1) 4 pair category 5e wire.
  5. Connection Center - The Connection Center, located in a closet, distributes services from outside the house (cable TV, telephone, satellite dish, internet, etc.) to outlet locations throughout the house.
  6. Telephone/TV Combo Outlet - This convenient outlet lets you have both telephone and television in one location. Outlet includes (1) 4 pair category 5e wire and (1) RG-6 coaxial cable.
  7. Teledata - Supports both telephone and high-speed data services. Can be used as one end of a local area network. Outlet includes (2) 4 pair category 5e wires.
  8. Universal Outlet - Used where maximum flexibility is needed. Outlet includes (2) 4 pair category 5e wires and (2) RG-6 coaxial cable.
  9. Ask About Satellite Dish Pre-wire! - The satellite dish pre-wire option gives you the ability to add components to receive satellite programming on up to 4 TVs. Satellite dish pre-wire includes (4) RG-6 coaxial cables and ground wire to attic.

Structured Wiring is best suited to new construction when the walls are still “open”; however, it is still a viable solution for an existing home that offers access to the desired rooms via an attic or basement.

We offer complete Structured Wiring systems from major manufacturers.
