Marketing Communications Assistant

Reports To: Marketing Director

FLSA Status: Hourly-15-20 hours per week

SUMMARY

  • This position assists in the production and project management of sales & marketing communications materials for corporate and branch office promotions and trade shows. Moreover, the position assists with timely updates to the company Intranet and websites and provides general sales support to fulfill overall business objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • With direction from the Marketing Director and Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing, assist in the maintenance, and production of sales & marketing materials for corporate and branch office promotions, trade shows, and other company business objectives. 
  • Provide support of Intranet site including updates to internal Employee Directory and Forms and Literature Databases.
  • Update social networking sites as directed.
  • Provide design layout and processing of business cards and company forms.
  • Assist in design and implementation of individualized marketing promotions according to strategies and marketing plans.
  • Interact with all departments within the organization as a vital contributor to the marketing communications team.
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned or requested.

SKILLS

  • Introductory knowledge of graphic design/Office software including but not limited to:
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Dreamweaver
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Microsoft Outlook
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • In addition to basic web development knowledge
  • Individual must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanor and taking quick action to resolve issues.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills are critical; as is the ability to promote the open flow of information by actively soliciting and listening to the ideas of others.
  • Proficient knowledge of print production processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Typically requires 1-3 years Internet and graphic design or marketing communications experience, or equivalent.
  • Candidate will need to show a portfolio of developed websites before interview.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current California driver’s license.
