Territory Sales Representative - Greater Alarm, Irvine, CA

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This position provides representation of The Greater Alarm Company to potential and existing customers. This position is required to provide system pricing proposals, estimations and sales customer service. Moreover, it is responsible for providing sales and company representation of Greater Alarm Company in the Irvine region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Propose and design intrusion, access control and CCTV system.
  • Propose and design fire alarm systems to meet UBC, UFC, and NFPA requirements. 
  • Prepare bid pricing using Greater Alarm pricing models and pricing quotes direct from vendors.
  • Create and maintain relationships with contractors, builders and developers.
  • Conduct sales presentation to potential customers.
  • Make contact with prominent members of the business community, property management, real estate development and fire department personnel.
  • Coordinate with Greater Alarm engineering department and technical sales staff to compile working drawings and file information.
  • Attend job-site meetings as necessary.
  • Provide leadership to the branch and company by analyzing the business operations of customers, to better understand the constructed business, profitability and overall health of the account.
  • Provide input to the General Manager for success or failure of current marketing tactics and promotions.
  • Provide information on competitors’ strategy, specific products, and anticipated course of action.
  • Meets and/or exceeds annual booking dollar and RMR quota guidelines for the position with approval of the General Manager.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed by General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education – Bachelors degree or 3 years experience in the security and fire alarm industry in a sales or marketing position.

Previous Experience – A minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in an installation and service related business, or 3 - 5 years experience in a customer service role.

Special Skills and/or Desirable Qualifications – Construction and/or Alarm industry experience desirable. Excellent communication skills, control oriented, high degree of integrity, self-motivated team player, goal and results oriented.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, marketing plans, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference and sophisticated accounting principles. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and to develop and interpret related graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, attrition, proportions and percentages.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills - Working knowledge of Windows 95, 98, NT, XP, 2000, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. Ability to type 55 wpm.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Must have a current California Drivers License and a favorable DMV Report must be maintained at all times. Must have a valid Alarm Company Employee registrations card issued through California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, equipment or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision and abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Regular attendance is required.
