Residential/Small Business Sales Representative -  Interface Security Systems, Monroe, LA

SUMMARY
This position provides representation of Interface Security Systems to potential and existing residential/small business customers.  This position is required to sell intrusion, fire, access control systems and security monitoring services to residential/small business customers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sell products within assigned geographic and vertical markets to residential customers while maintaining a quota as defined in the Residential/Small Business Sales Representative Plan.
• Identify prospective leads and follow-up with leads generated by the business development center.
• Prepare sales proposal utilizing Interface pricing guidelines.  Present proposal to customer identifying positive features and advantages of our products and services over those offered by the competition.
• Maintain productive working relationships with existing customers.
• Follow-up with prospective customers.
• Prepare final contract for customer signature.
• Comply with current Interface policies, procedures, products, programs and services.
• Initiate the work order and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved procedures.
• Pre-installation meeting between installer and appropriate customer representative at job site.  This meeting is to ensure that all components purchased are understood and included on the Schedule to the Agreement; the locations and types of devices; functionality of system; scope of work to be performed and a completion date are understood and mutually agreed upon.
• Post installation follow-up upon completion to perform a walk through with customer to ensure commitments were met, obtain a Delivery and Acceptance Certificate, collect payment (if possible) and ask for referrals.
• Maintain customer retention by following up with customer after 6 and 12 months of service.
• Maintain a high knowledge of product/services and customers’ issues and needs through in-house training and reading/research.
• Provide support and guidance to less experienced sales representatives.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION – High School degree or equivalent.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE – A minimum of two years experience as a successful residential/small business sales representative; demonstrated by the consistent ability to exceed quota.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Possess excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, strong communication skills and the ability to problem solve and be sensitive to customer needs.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales proposals, pricing books and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write proposals, reports and correspondence.
• Ability to use general math to be able to prepare bids, calculate pricing and recurring revenue.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid drivers license with clean driving record and background check.
• Ability to obtain security industry license as required by states in which sales will be made.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule and available for local travel.
• Results driven and self-motivated.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit while driving, preparing proposals and talking with customers.  Employee is frequently required to talk or hear to interact with employees/customers.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, crouch, kneel, climb or crawl to examine the customer’s property or building.  The employee must frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds that could include sales materials and small equipment for demonstrations.  Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus in order to view reports, equipment instructions and operating manuals.

Work is performed indoors in a fluorescent lit workspace at the employer’s office.  Employee is also required to work at multiple customer sites that can include work outdoors to inspect customer’s property and building.
