Accounts Payable Specialist -  Interface Systems, Earth City, MO

Department: Accounting and Finance
Supervisor: Controller
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Purpose and Scope

The Accounts Payable Specialist will perform various functions to support the Accounting and Finance Department.

Responsibilities

• Match internal purchase documents to vendor invoices
• Review, code and post vendor invoices
• Post credit memos and any other necessary adjustments to vendor accounts
• Reconcile vendor accounts
• Perform check runs and electronic payments
• Ensure compliance with vendor management procedures
• Cross train in other areas of accounting to act as backup
• Assist in the preparation of workpapers for audits and compliance reporting
• Prepare analysis and reports for management
• Other Administration, Projects, and duties as assigned

• Must have general understanding of accounting and finance
• Strong attention to detail, analytical aptitude, commitment to accuracy and quality, problem solving skills

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with all levels of staff as internal customers

Time Management

• Must possess the ability to set goals and be a self-starter
• Display the ability to meet and set work flow deadlines
• Maintain a sense of urgency and follow through tasks to completion
• Must demonstrate initiative and ability to handle multiple responsibilities

Computer Skills

• Must be able to use various financial tools available (e.g., spreadsheet and accounting software)
• Microsoft Office software (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus

Change Management

• Must embrace change and view change as an opportunity
• Must be willing to express and support management ideas

• Requirements:

Minimum two years experience working in Accounts Payable or Purchasing
